# Comfort shows and movies In researching autism traits, I have come across several women that have talked about watching the same thing over and over until they can repeat most, if not all, of the script. This is something I've done for a long, long time. I think a lot of kids do this, but eventually grow out of it. I think it started with Disney movies for me. VHS tapes for The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Pocahontas were all played over and over, back to back, at different times. I'd watch one several times a day for days or weeks before moving on to another one. Eventually, I grew a little older and watching Disney movies stopped being my "thing." However, this little habit came back when I was in middle school and I watched Sleepless in Seattle almost non-stop for months. Again, I eventually stopped watching the movie and moved on. Then, in high school, I watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith every single night, sometimes several times a night, for almost all of Junior year. (Yes, I can still say all the words to this movie. My husband has banned it because I just talk the whole time.) Nowadays, I tend to re-watch series. The Office is a big one. I've seen it probably 12 times.
